Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) 8 Week Course

The 8 week course was created by Jon Kabat-Zinn more than 40 years ago for patients at the Stress Reduction Clinic, University of Massachusetts Medical Center suffering from chronic pain and stress.  


Some 40+ years later, hundreds of scientific studies have been conducted to document and prove the remarkable results learning to cultivate the life-long tools taught in this 8 week course can have helping you to maximize your life, even when facing stress, illness and pain.


Through the MBSR program you will consciously and systematically work through the challenges and demands of everyday life in a safe and supportive environment.     


      This is done through:


  • Guided instruction in mindfulness meditation practices like Awareness of Breath Mindful Sitting (AOB), Walking Meditation, Mindful Yoga Movement, Bodyscan
     
  • Group dialogue aimed to enhance your awareness in everyday life
     
  • Daily home assignments
     

First step

Orientation is the first step toward enrollment in MBSR.  


Orientation is free of charge and is required of all participants before beginning the program.  


During orientation you will have the opportunity to:  


  • Meet your teacher
     
  • Learn about Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and explore if it is right for you
     
  • Experience, first-hand, mindfulness methods and approaches you will be learning during the program
     
  • Confirm your place in the class and enroll in the program
